Luton SAC own a 5.7m RIB c/w 115hp outboard motor and separate back-up O.B.M. The RIB is fully "loaded" with G.P.S, Echo Sounders and VHF Radio, which were all renewed for 2005.

We have a further 3 RIB’s owned by club members.

Boat handling and chartwork can be rewarding additions to core diving skills.

Some club trips that involve using the club RIB are, Boatmanship and Navigational skills to select, identify and dive locations decided and agreed by the dive party. Taking the club RIB out involves TEAMWORK, but planning all the elements of the trip can be immensely satisfying.

Club trips involving the use of the RIB will require notification to the Diving Officer, Equipment Officer and Training Officer. Suitably qualified and experienced divers who are also boat handlers will need to lead the trip.
